Meals Ministry

SONY DSCFood is Love

It has been said that “All sorrows are less with bread” (Cervantes), and that “Food is love” (parishioner).

With that in mind, St. Alban’s keeps its freezer stocked with meals ready to be delivered to and enjoyed by those who might appreciate a meal.  There are many ways to participate.

  • Perhaps you know someone who could benefit from a ready made meal – a recent widow, a new parent, someone recently hospitalized or undergoing treatment, a family in transition.
  • Perhaps you have a passion for cooking, enjoy cooking with friends, or need an outlet for your leftovers.
  • Or perhaps you like to be the bearer of food, sharing in the joy of a gift gladly given and gratefully received.

If any of these ways to participate rings true for you, let us know!  Also,  If you are interested in adding your name to the list of willing cooks, please fill out the section below.  When we receive a request for a meal, St. Albans’ meal ministry coordinator sends a general request out to those on this list.  Whoever is free at that time to cook a meal, does so.  This system has worked out well, allowing us to get the word out and the need met easily.
