A Safe Community for All
St. Alban’s is committed to be providing the safest of environments, particularly for children, the vulnerable and the aged. The teachers and the leaders of St. Alban’s are trained in ways to bring this commitment to life. This training is designed to increase awareness regarding sexual misconduct and abuse of power, to outline steps toward prevention of abuse, to offer ways to intervene when misconduct occurs, and to equip anyone in a position of leadership with ways for healing and rebuilding the body of Christ.

Safe Church Training Resolution
Resolved by the Vestry of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church on September 11, 2018:
Given that St. Alban’s Parish has long been committed to providing the safest of environments_, particularly for children, the vulnerable and the aged, we make a fresh commitment that the teachers and the leaders of St. Alban’s will continue to be trained in best practices to bring this commitment to life.
We commit ourselves to training designed to increase awareness regarding sexual misconduct and abuse of power, to outline steps toward prevention of abuse, to offer ways to intervene when misconduct occurs, and to equip all in positions of leadership with ways for healing and rebuilding the body of Christ.
We take note of the recent collegial communication from the Rev. Canon Michael Ambler sharing the June 2, 2018 policy and procedures directive adopted by The Diocesan Council. We endorse this directive and request that the rector make plans for St. Alban’s Parish to comply with it, and report periodically to the vestry on such efforts.
Further, we pledge1o remain alert and responsive to all safety concerns and any opportunities’ to refine and refresh our commitment to a safe and welcoming St. Alban’s.
