The Memorial Garden

Worship. Contemplation. Remembrance.

The Memorial Garden at St. Alban’s gives glory to God, and extends our thriving life of worship from inside the church out onto our beautiful church grounds.  The garden offers a serene setting for outdoor worship services, private contemplation, remembrance, and reflection.

The garden provides a peaceful place where we can lay to rest the ashes of our loved ones, and a place for prayer where, in the shelter of our church, we remember forever those we have loved and lost.  Two beautiful stone walls within the garden contain interior niches for the placement of ashes.  The niches are accessible from a private path behind the walls.  At this time, we are beginning to accept reservations for niches.  Please contact the parish office for costs and details.

The Garden also contains an interment area for placement of ashes in the earth.  The sloping area includes a lovely meandering pathway amid beautiful plantings and ground cover.  This sacred area will also be used for scattering of ashes.  Please contact the parish office for costs and details.

In addition to being a place where we remember those we have loved and lost, the Memorial Garden at St. Alban’s is a place to celebrate Eucharist on a great stone altar, and to celebrate weddings and baptisms. Here, we feel the abiding presence of those we have laid to rest and the nearness of God’s own love.  What a powerful symbol of our resurrection faith – to truly live in the place where we remember those who have gone before us.

The Amphitheater, located adjacent to the parish hall, provides a unique setting for educational offerings for all ages, performances and discussions. A designated activity area located just below the Garden offers a large, flat grassy area for activities such as play, sports, picnics, festivals, wedding receptions.
