Family Service and Pageant – Sunday, December 17

color crossWorship is not only about offering prayers and thanksgivings to God; it is also about building community.  This year, we will offer five Family Services that will be held seasonally.  On those Sundays all of us, including children and youth, will gather together for the entire service.  Our worship will include a Eucharist, as usual, but the service will be fine-tuned and “distilled” to its core elements to make the message simple, clear and inclusive.

A major facet of the service will be the participation of the children and youth in many roles – from ushers, to chalice bearers, lectors to musicians.  Raising up our young people to leadership positions in worship helps to form the future leaders of our church, and lets them know that there is a role for all of us to play in the Body of Christ.

The December 17 youth service will also feature this year’s Christmas Pageant, starring more than 40 of our youngest parishioners. Middle school and high school youth are invited to participate as ushers, chalice bearers and lectors.  If your young person is interested in having a role , please contact Katie Holicky at
